Been a Braves fan my whole life and never seen anything like this .
This is the best Braves team I’ve ever seen .
Maybe the best baseball team I’ve ever seen

23-3 in the last 26 games

This is with both the Braves top pitchers going into the season being on the IL since early May .

The entire infield made the all star team .
Acuna having statistically the best season in MLB history for a non 2 way player .

They aren’t beating teams they are destroying teams

They just broke tHe record for most home runs in a month .

If they don’t win it all this year it would truly suck and be a testament to the fact that in baseball more then any other sport that the best team does not always win .

I was telling my son almost the exact same thing last nite after they won. 30 games over .500

It was last year during July is when they made their awesome run. Just think what their record was their last 12 months.

I am going to pump the breaks a tad as its only the first half and many times the "hot team" wins in the playoffs.

Last season was awesome how they came back to top the mets for the division but losing to philly hurt a little.

Just hope everyone stays healthy and the SP comes back healthy (Fried). If Sirotka could come back to pre 2020 form, then it would be a BONUS

I think the problem with last year is they got off to such a horrible start that they spent all thier energy im the 2nd half of the season chasing down the Mets .
They literally caught them on game 162.
They were below .500 as late as the month of June last year and still managed to win 100 games

By the time the post season came around they were spent .

Looks like they won’t have that problem this year

But they could have a new problem this year

Clinching everything there is to clinch with 2 months left and going months without playing a meaningful game then all of a sudden face a best of 5 series .

That is a different challenge then the one they faced last year.

And the pressure is going to be enormous
People all over are starting to call this a historic team .
Players will be under a huge amount of pressure not to blow it

I wonder when was the last time if ever a team won 135 games in 196 games

Possibly 01 Mariners or 98 Yankees.

Need someone to do the research how these teams fared in the other 34 games from the prior or ensuing season

Best teams don’t always win the World Series…I think the percentage is in the high twenties that they do…

but I agree with Chop that this Brave team is special..great pitching, great hitting, and great defense…

if the Phillies can get a wild card they have a chance to upset them just like last year…

By the way the 1906 Cubs were 116-36 and lost the Series to the Chicago White Sox..

It really does kinda suck that in MLB and NHL there is so much luck involved in the game that even if you are easily the best team in the league, it's still less then 50% to win the championship. Even the best team in history can easily not even make the World Series.

Finishing the 162 game schedule with the best record is easily a greater accomplishment and much better indicator of the best team in those sports. But nobody cares, only the championships count, which is kind of stupid.

It all comes down to who has the hot bats at the right time, in the right series

And who has that lights out unhittable pitcher at exactly the right time. He could easily be hot for a 2 month stretch then hurt, then back in minors but for those 2 months be unhittable like a couple of those Cubs pitchers were.
In addition to that what about just luck over the course of 4-7 games. One team can hit the ball hard and it just goes right at the fielders and the other teams bloopers can find holes for 4 straight games.

Heck the Phillies won 19-2 or something last week, there were like 5 straight bloop hits in the same inning when they broke it open. Guy pitched great and gave up like 5 runs that inning.
